In Pelt, it is now possible to be buried in the forest at two locations, with the recent opening of the nature cemetery at Eindakker.

In addition to the existing nature cemetery at De Roosen, the location at Eindakker has now also been put into use. This new cemetery is situated amidst the forest.
Burials at this wooded location are carried out with a biodegradable urn. After the farewell ceremony, municipal employees place the urn in the forest. This forest is not accessible to the public, and the exact burial location is not disclosed. It is also not permitted to enter the nature cemetery or to place any signs, symbols, fences, or decorations.
To allow families to say goodbye, a small ceremony spot has been created near the forest. At this memorial site stands a column where uniform nameplates of the deceased are placed.

"With the nature cemeteries, we offer a serene and sustainable solution for people who are environmentally conscious and wish to find their final resting place in harmony with Pelt's nature."
