De Kringwinkel is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and organized a competition among Flemish municipalities from October 17th to 31st. The goal was to collect as many reusable items as possible through the local Kringwinkel.
Peer achieved a fine third place with 0.43 kilograms of collected goods per inhabitant. Bree was crowned Kringkampioen 2026, with Lanaken finishing second.
The city thanks all residents who brought in their reusable items, thereby giving items a second life and reducing the waste mountain.
