Each year, the 11 November commemoration is celebrated alternately in Heusden or Zolder. In 2026, it is Heusden's turn. The day begins at 9 AM with a Eucharistic service in the Sint-Willibrordus Church, commemorating the victims of both World Wars and Belgian victims during peacekeeping missions.
Following this, at 10:10 AM, ceremonies will include the laying of wreaths at the war memorial in Heusden-Centrum. At 10:40 AM, ceremonies will take place at the monument in Zolder-Centrum.
The day concludes at 11 AM with a reception at the town hall hosted by the local administration.
