Residents of Herk-de-Stad can visit the De Cirkel community center on Saturday, October 3rd for a Repair Café. Between 9 AM and 12 PM, volunteers will be ready to help repair broken items and appliances together with visitors.
Repair Café Herk-de-Stad aims to extend the lifespan of items. Volunteers offer assistance in repairing a wide range of objects, including coffee makers, clothing seams or buttons, vacuum cleaners, bicycle brakes or tires, radios, computers, and toys. While success is not guaranteed, the volunteers do their utmost to get items back in good working order.
The repairs themselves are free of charge. However, a voluntary contribution is requested after a successful repair to cover the costs of the Repair Café. In some cases, the cost of new parts will be charged separately.
Pre-registration is not required; everyone is welcome to bring their items for repair.
