Zandhoven can be proud of its performance in the Municipality Test by HLN and VTM NIEUWS. The municipality achieved a strong overall score of 72 out of 100, placing it within the top 6% of best-scoring municipalities in Flanders. This result is well above the Flemish average of 62 out of 100.
The Municipality Test, which involved 135,088 participants, aimed to find the ‘Best Municipality in Flanders’. While Merksplas emerged as the overall winner, Zandhoven's high score confirms its position as one of the leading municipalities.
This score is a compliment to all residents, associations, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and staff who contribute to making Zandhoven what it is. Zandhoven emphasizes that it is a pleasant place to live, work, and thrive thanks to these collective efforts. However, the municipality remains open to feedback for improvement and is focused on the future.
The data for the Municipality Test was collected in October 2026 by HLN, with analysis conducted by research firm iVOX. The results are based on the opinions of HLN readers and VTM NIEUWS viewers.
