Caregivers providing extra care to a person in need can apply for the caregiver premium at the social services center of Wijnegem until October 31, 2026. This premium offers financial support for long-term, unpaid home care.
To be eligible, the caregiver must meet certain conditions: the care provider must reside in the municipality of Wijnegem or live with the person needing care, be a relative, friend, or acquaintance, and provide long-term, unpaid extra home care.
The person needing care must receive assistance with daily activities, be eligible for the increased benefit from the mutual insurance, and be able to provide a certificate of care needs.
