The municipality of Ravels has launched a new film that takes viewers through Ravels, Weelde, and Poppel, from the past to the present.

The film, lasting just over seven minutes, offers a glimpse into Ravels, Weelde, and Poppel. It showcases the municipality's evolution, from childcare and schools to sports and leisure, and from green landscapes to daily life.
New residents were the first to see the film, a deliberate choice to present the municipality with a fresh perspective. However, the film is intended for everyone who lives, works, or feels connected to Ravels.
The film begins with historical images and then transitions to contemporary Ravels. Instead of a list of figures, the film focuses on visuals that characterize the municipality, such as childcare, education, sports, recreation, associations, its green character, and recognizable places.
The production was a collaboration with Replay AVM from Oud-Turnhout. The content was partly determined by municipal departments that contributed ideas for locations and topics. The communications department coordinated the project, selected images with the departments, and maintained the film's narrative thread. The voice-over was written and recorded by municipal employees.
The previous municipal film had become outdated and was too long. The new film is shorter, more modern, and more visual, aiming to provide a sense of what it's like to live and reside in Ravels without attempting to explain everything.
Following its premiere during the welcome evening, the film is now also available online for all residents. The images tell the story: children playing, people engaging in sports, associations gathering, recognizable roads and squares, the surrounding landscape, and places where residents meet.
