The municipality of Ranst will begin installing informational plaques at graves, urn sites, and columbaria in the cemeteries of Emblem and Oelegem in the coming days.

Technical service employees will affix the plaques, which will indicate the current situation and whether relatives need to take any action.
Through the redesign, the municipality aims to make both cemeteries future-proof. More green spaces will be added, and new areas for remembrance and farewell will be provided. Concurrently, the municipality wants to ensure sufficient long-term space for various forms of burial and ash interment.
The redesign will be carried out in phases, with particular attention to existing graves and their relatives.
Further information about the redesign and plans can be found on the municipality's website.
