The central message is straightforward: a clean town center is a shared responsibility of the municipality, the retailers, and the visitors. To visually convey this message, several retailers from Mortsel-dorp posed with employees from the local administration of Mortsel. This campaign image, featuring real faces, highlights these joint efforts and extends a positive appeal to the residents of Mortsel and other visitors, encouraging them to take responsibility and treat public spaces with respect.
A vibrant commercial center begins with well-maintained public spaces. Therefore, Mortsel is enhancing its efforts for a tidy town with a new, modern street sweeping machine. This machine will soon be spotted in the shopping streets. Its maneuverability allows it to more easily clear leaves and other debris, helping to keep cycle paths and sidewalks even cleaner. Litter remains a significant annoyance for the people of Mortsel, and the municipality is committed to addressing this issue.
The Week of Enforcement, an initiative by Mooimakers, will focus this week on increased controls, awareness campaigns, and social monitoring regarding litter and illegal dumping. OVAM will also be paying extra attention in Mortsel, conducting additional checks on discarded cigarette butts, general litter, fly-tipping, and dog waste.
