The current Hummeltjeshof daycare center, which has been operating for almost 50 years and has cared for 1,500 babies and toddlers, has an outdated building on Augustijnenlaan. Therefore, the city council has decided to build a new, future-oriented daycare center.
The new daycare center will be sustainable, featuring safe outdoor play areas and additional capacity for childcare spots. The chosen location is the site of the old drawing academy on Markgravenstraat, a neighborhood close to the train station and the De Vossenberg sports complex, and adjacent to a future park.
De Gouden Liniaal Architecten and Studio Basta have created a preliminary design for the building, garden, and park. This design will be presented to the public on Tuesday, November 17th, between 6 PM and 9 PM, in the entrance hall of sportcomplex De Vossenberg (Markgravenstraat 107).
Designers and city council staff will be present to explain the plans and gather ideas and suggestions from the public.
