In Heist-op-den-Berg, four additional sports clubs were exceptionally able to apply for and receive recognition approved by the college of aldermen.

In 2026, sports clubs in Heist could exceptionally apply for recognition even after the annual deadline of January 31st. Four clubs took advantage of this one-time transitional measure and received a positive recommendation, subsequently approved by the college. These clubs are FC Jecon, Move & Glow, De Snoekvissers, and Dansclub ’t Uiltje.
These associations join the 70 Heist sports clubs that were already recognized earlier this year. They can benefit from recognition advantages for the remainder of 2026, including lower rental prices for venues and equipment, discounts on printing, and free participation in training sessions and networking events. However, they are not eligible for subsidies for the remaining months of 2026.
From 2027 onwards, the standard procedure will apply again, requiring clubs to apply for recognition annually before January 31st.
