Before a design is finalized, the municipality wants to understand current usage of Kiliaanstraat and future priorities. Therefore, a comprehensive survey begins on Wednesday, October 28. Everyone living in, working in, shopping in, or regularly cycling or walking through the street is encouraged to share their experiences. The survey will cover aspects like safety, parking, accessibility of businesses, green spaces, and overall pleasantness.
The survey runs from Wednesday, October 28, to Wednesday, November 18, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Participation is possible via an online link or on paper at the library located at O.-L.-Vrouwlaan 1. Library opening hours can be checked at www.duffel.be/contact.
The survey results will serve as the starting point for further development. A sounding board group, including residents and shopkeepers, will work with the findings to develop various scenarios for the street. These scenarios will be presented early next year at a public participation event.
Those wishing to contribute further can express their interest in joining the sounding board group at the end of the survey. The first meeting of this group is scheduled for December. More information is available at www.duffel.be/participatiekiliaanstraat.
Throughout the survey period, from Wednesday, October 28, to Wednesday, November 18, a digital survey kiosk will also be available at the intersection of Kiliaanstraat and Hondiuslaan. Passersby can answer a few short questions about the street on-site.
