From October 26 to November 1, Roeselare is dedicated to the Week of Taste, featuring a program that brings together young cooking talent, special beers, and gastronomy at various locations.

From young cooking talent and special beers to gastronomic dining in surprising locations: from October 26 to November 1, Roeselare will once again be dedicated to the Week of Taste. The program combines familiar, renewed, and brand-new activities. The kick-off will even take place a day earlier, on Sunday, October 25, with the very first Junior Smaakmaker.
Roeselare has been a strong player on the map as a food city for years, with numerous large food companies, producers, and knowledge institutions. This strong food sector forms the basis for the city as the Capital of the Food Valley. With the Week of Taste, Roeselare brings this story into the city, where residents and visitors can discover local flavors, culinary talent, and special places.
This year's event brings together familiar, renewed, and new activities. The gastronomic theater walk De Achterkeuken returns and will tour the Krottegem district of Roeselare. The search for Roeselare's cooking talent gets a young twist with Junior Smaakmaker. A completely new addition is Rondje Roeselare, an evening dedicated to tasting and experiencing the strong connection between Roeselare and beer.
Mayor Kris Declercq emphasizes that food is in the DNA of Roeselare. 'Our city and region have many strong food companies, producers, hospitality businesses, and culinary talent. During the Week of Taste, we bring that story to life for residents and visitors. The fact that we are now also contributing to the further development of the Week of Taste in Flanders fits perfectly with Roeselare as the Capital of the Food Valley.'
Junior Smaakmaker, on Sunday, October 25, seeks young cooking talent up to 12 years old who, together with a parent or grandparent, will prepare a dessert with a Roeselare twist live for the public. Registration is open until Sunday, October 11.
Rondje Roeselare takes place on Monday, October 26, Tuesday, October 27, and Wednesday, October 28. During this cozy tasting evening, participants will discover a selection of beers from breweries with a strong connection to Roeselare, such as Rodenbach, Zwaan 9, De Brouwmoaten, and De Poes. Tickets cost 25 euros, and sales start on Monday, October 5.
The gastronomic theater walk De Achterkeuken runs from Thursday, October 29, to Saturday, October 31, through the Krottegem district. Participants will enjoy culinary and theatrical surprises, with creations from Inari, Olea Social Foodbar, Le Nord, and CRKL, among others, complemented by artisanal treats from Atelier Noisette. Tickets cost 96 euros per person, with two time slots each evening. Ticket sales also start on Monday, October 5.
Concurrently, Roeselare will host the Brussels Beer Challenge from October 27 to 30, where international beer connoisseurs will judge beers from home and abroad. Visitors can also get a taste of this international beer competition through a promotion on the Visit Roeselare social media.
The Week of Taste, which has existed since 2006, brings people together around taste and food culture throughout Flanders and Brussels. From 2026 onwards, Roeselare will play a larger role in the event's narrative, aligning with the city's ambition as the Capital of the Food Valley.
The Week of Taste in Roeselare runs from Monday, October 26, to Sunday, November 1, 2026. Junior Smaakmaker kicks off on Sunday, October 25. Tickets for Rondje Roeselare and De Achterkeuken go on sale Monday, October 5, and registration for Junior Smaakmaker is open until Sunday, October 11. More information at visitroeselare.be.
