The Urban Development department of Knokke-Heist has moved to the new Hoost complex on Maes- en Boereboomplein. Citizens can access various services there from October 12, 2026, and Mayor Cathy Coudyser will also have an office.

Last week, the entire Urban Development department of Knokke-Heist relocated. The services, previously housed in the AGSO building in ‘t Walletje and the town hall on the Alfred Verweeplein, are now located on the 1st floor of the Hoost complex on Maes- en Boereboomplein in Heist. Since Monday, October 12, 2026, the public can visit the Urban Planning, Climate - Environment & Nature, Public Domain, Spatial Planning, and Entrepreneurship & Beach departments during opening hours.
Mayor Cathy Coudyser now has her own office space in Hoost, in addition to her bureau at the town hall on the Alfred Verweeplein. Her consultation hour for discussing urban planning files takes place weekly in Hoost on Wednesdays between 10 AM and 12:30 PM. Appointments can only be made through the Urban Planning department (T. 050 63 01 80 or stedenbouw@knokke-heist.be).
For all other matters, the mayor holds a consultation hour on the third Thursday of each month between 2 PM and 4 PM at the town hall on the Alfred Verweeplein. This is by appointment only at the town hall reception on the Alfred Verweeplein in Knokke or via 050 63 01 00.
Starting November 3, 2026, the Heist library branch will also begin a trial run in Hoost. On Saturday, November 21, and Sunday, November 22, 2026, the municipal government will organize animated open house days. During this festive weekend, the toy library De Wip will also officially open its doors, allowing the public to explore the colorful building and familiarize themselves with its public functions and diverse new services.
The municipal government emphasizes that parking is not permitted on the renovated Maes- en Boereboomplein. To avoid a fine, visitors are advised to park in the surrounding streets or in the underground parking beneath the Hoost building, where the first half-hour of parking is free.
