The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) launches EIT Water, a new network bundling European forces around innovation in water management, sea, and maritime activities. The focus is on innovation, entrepreneurship, and training, with over 150 members across 29 countries.

Europe faces complex water challenges such as water scarcity, drought, floods, and pollution. EIT Water aims to better connect strong European knowledge institutions, innovative companies, and technologies to translate innovations into concrete solutions more rapidly.
EIT Water is one of the nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC's) of the EIT and the first to approach water, sea, and maritime activities integrally. The community currently has over 150 members, with eight regional hubs connecting organizations from 29 European countries.
De Blauwe Cluster is taking the lead for Regional Hub West, which encompasses Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and France. From this role, they will connect companies, knowledge institutions, and other players from the region with European opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, training, and cross-border collaboration.
The first concrete step is Water Streams West on December 2nd in Paris. This event, organized by De Blauwe Cluster and INRAE, will bring together EIT Water members and key stakeholders from France and the Benelux for project matching, new collaborations, and preparation for future EIT Water calls.
Organizations active in water, sea, or maritime innovation are encouraged to join EIT Water to collaborate on new solutions and projects.
