The municipality of Wemmel is starting public consultations for three new street names: Porticus, Hospitalis, and Boekweide. The deadline for objections is November 4th.

The college of mayor and aldermen of Wemmel has opened three public consultations for the designation of new street names. This is in accordance with the decree of January 28, 1977, for the protection of the names of public roads and squares, as amended on November 29, 2002.
The proposed street names are Porticus, Hospitalis, and Boekweide. The municipal council provisionally approved these names on September 17, 2026. Porticus and Hospitalis are intended for new roads in the Jochri development, on the side of Fr. Robbrechtsstraat and Ruiterweg respectively. Boekweide will be the connecting street between A. Verhasseltstraat and Fr. Robbrechtsstraat.
The public consultations will run for 30 days, from October 5, 2026, to November 4, 2026. The relevant files can be viewed at the town hall, Department of Environment, at Dr. H. Folletlaan 28 in 1780 Wemmel. An appointment is required by calling 02/462.11.10.
Any comments and objections can be submitted in writing to the College of Mayor and Aldermen, also at Dr. H. Folletlaan 28, no later than November 4, 2026.
