From Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Agency for Roads and Traffic will carry out works at the Tienen exit (nr. 25) of the E40 towards Liege, with a detour for traffic.

The Agency for Roads and Traffic will begin work on Thursday, October 15, '26 at the Tienen exit (nr. 25) of the E40 motorway towards Liege. The bend of the junction with the N29 towards Tienen will be reconstructed to improve traffic safety. The works are expected to last about six weeks.
Traffic heading towards Tienen and Sint-Truiden will follow a short detour via the exit towards Hoegaarden during this period. After turning at the roundabout, traffic can continue its journey.
To make the junction with the N29 safer, the existing bend will be completely broken up. Subsequently, the road surface will be rebuilt in several layers, and new road markings will be applied. The lighting poles will also be relocated.
The works will commence on October 15, '26 and, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting, are expected to last approximately six weeks. The exit should be fully open again by late November.
