Fluvius will send letters starting from the end of September to customers currently using an exclusive night tariff. This is to inform them in a timely manner about the upcoming changes and the potential steps they can or must take.
This specific network tariff, also known as the ‘exclusive night tariff’ or ‘exclusive night consumption’, is being gradually phased out and will completely disappear on January 1, 2028. This tariff was originally introduced to charge electrical appliances, such as storage heaters or electric boilers, at night, thereby utilizing the then-existing surplus production from nuclear power plants.
However, due to the increase in renewable energy sources and the evolution of the energy system, the situation has changed. The necessity for this specific night tariff has thus diminished, leading to its gradual phasing out.
