Vernieuwing betonplaten en fietspad op Tiensesteenweg in Bierbeek

Gemeente Bierbeek

The Agency for Roads and Traffic is renewing damaged concrete slabs and the adjacent cycle path on Tiensesteenweg in Bierbeek. The works are being carried out in two phases and will be completed on Friday, November 27.

The works are concentrated between house number 291 and Bost street, at the border with Boutersem. The contractor will first remove the cracked concrete slabs and then pour new concrete. The adjacent cycle path will be renewed simultaneously. The signage will remain in place until the concrete has sufficiently hardened.
The lane towards Leuven will remain open. Temporary traffic lights will regulate alternating traffic on the regional road. Cyclists heading towards Leuven will experience no disruption. Cyclists heading towards Boutersem/Tienen will be locally guided with motor traffic through the construction zone, where a speed limit of 30 km/h applies. Pedestrians can pass the construction zone via the verge.
Buses will continue to serve all nearby stops, but delays are possible due to the temporary traffic lights. Travelers are advised to check the De Lijn route planner. Parking at the construction zone is not permitted.
If everything proceeds smoothly, the roadway will be reopened on Friday, November 27. More detailed information is available on the Wegen en Verkeer website.
