The Local Authority of Wetteren is commencing work on the Felix Beernaertsplein to improve accessibility and introduce new planting.

The initial phase involves removing existing low planting from the flowerbeds. A central median will also be adjusted to improve accessibility for wheelchair users. These works are being carried out by the Local Authority of Wetteren. No traffic disruptions are anticipated, and circulation on the square will remain unchanged.
During weekdays, parking will be prohibited on the square from 8 AM to 6 PM. Nine parking spaces will remain available throughout the works. Parking will be permitted again outside of working hours. The Sunday market can proceed as usual. A limited zone on the square will be temporarily used for storing materials and vehicles.
The works are expected to last approximately three weeks. New planting will be introduced in the spring, along with adjustments to the planting on the roundabout.
