Still have old grey household waste bags at home? These will remain usable for waste collection until March 31, 2027. Starting January 1, 2026, new grey household waste bags with a yellow dot imprint will be distributed and sold. After April 1, 2027, only these new bags will be collected.
An additional exchange campaign for old household waste bags will be organized between January 1 and June 30, 2027. Households can exchange a maximum of 10 large rolls or 20 small rolls of old waste bags for SlimmeSorteerpunten (Smart Sorting Points). One roll of large old bags is worth 12.5 points, a small roll 6.25 points.
During the same period in 2027, the SlimmeSorteerpunten can also be used to purchase new grey household waste bags with yellow dots. One roll of large new bags costs 16 points, a small roll 8 points.
Important dates at a glance: until December 31, 2026, a maximum of 3 large or 6 small rolls of old bags can be exchanged. Until March 31, 2027, the old bags remain valid for collection. The exceptional exchange campaign runs until June 30, 2027. From July 1, 2027, the regular system will be in effect again, with the exchange of new bags.
The SlimmeSorteerpunten are not valid indefinitely; points received in 2027 will remain valid until December 31, 2029.
