The municipal council of Vosselaar approved the lease agreement on October 1, 2026, for the creation of a natural burial site in the forest near 't Hof, which will open in 2027.

The municipality can now use a portion of the forest at 't Hof to establish a natural burial site in the coming months. Access will be via Krikskensstraat, followed by a walk of approximately 250 meters along a natural path.
With this initiative, Vosselaar aims to offer an alternative for those who choose a final resting place in nature after death. The 't Hof area is well-suited for this: the natural burial site will be integrated into the existing forest and will feature a simple, natural design without gravestones, walls, signposts, memorial plaques, lighting, sanitation, shelters, or bins. The natural environment is paramount.
Two forms of burial will be possible at the natural burial site: scattering of ashes around a tree or burying the ashes in a biodegradable urn.
