Fifth and sixth-year secondary school students participated in the YOUCA Action Day on October 15, working for a day with the municipality of Sint-Katelijne-Waver and donating their wages to global youth projects.

The YOUCA Action Day brought together employers and students. The pupils, from SUI, College Hagelstein, and SNOR, worked for a day and donated their wages to projects run by engaged youth worldwide. On Thursday, October 15, the students assisted in municipal schools, the library, the green services department, and various other services of the municipal government. Even the mayor received a helping hand.
This year, YOUCA focuses on the theme 'Not for all the money in the world,' seeking alternative ways to live, produce, and consume justly without exceeding the limits of people and the planet. YOUCA selects projects by engaged youth worldwide based on this theme. The students who work for a day donate their wages of 70 euros to these projects through YOUCA.
By employing the young people for a day, the municipal government of Sint-Katelijne-Waver gladly contributes.
