Starting January 1, 2027, GFT waste in Mortsel will be weighed according to the diftar system. To facilitate this transition, existing GFT containers will be equipped with a registration chip in November and December 2026.
Residents are requested to indicate their preference by October 4, 2026. This may involve choosing to keep their current GFT container or requesting a different container size.
It is crucial to explicitly confirm this choice, even if you wish to keep your current containers. GFT containers without a chip will no longer be emptied from January 1, 2027.
