Lung cancer is the third most common cancer and has the highest mortality rate. However, through early detection, this disease can be found at an early and curable stage.
The ZORALCS study focuses specifically on the early detection of lung cancer within the six municipalities of the first-line zone ZORA (South-East Rand Antwerp). These municipalities are Kontich, Boechout, Lint, Mortsel, Edegem, and Hove.
As part of this study, a survey is currently being conducted under the leadership of prof. dr. Guido Van Hal and Charlotte Theuns. Participants help them gain a better understanding of the Flemish population's views on smoking and the early detection of lung cancer.
Anyone aged 18 years or older residing in Flanders can participate in the survey. It takes approximately 10 minutes and includes statements for which there are no right or wrong answers.
