The municipality of Aartselaar is looking for an entrepreneurial hospitality partner to operate ’t Sportzicht and the Sportcafé, which are part of the local sports center. The administration is consciously opting for an approach where potential operators are given the opportunity to contribute to the future concept of these hospitality venues.
Given the significant changes in the hospitality sector, where successful operation requires a balance between staffing, opening hours, investments, costs, an attractive offering, and sufficient revenue potential, Aartselaar does not want to predefine all aspects of the future operation. Candidate operators are invited to share their vision on the hospitality concept, the opportunities presented by the sports environment, feasible opening hours, collaboration with sports clubs, realistic investments and conditions, and what is needed to make the operation economically sustainable.
Through a procedure involving a dialogue phase, selected candidates will have the opportunity to engage directly with the local government. The ambition is to evolve from a classic hospitality concession to a sustainable partnership that is not only economically sound but also strengthens the venue's role as a meeting place for athletes, parents, supporters, visitors, and clubs.
Interested parties can register their interest in the first phase via the federal e-Procurement platform. A fully developed hospitality or operational concept is not required at this stage. After evaluating the applications, selected candidates will be invited for the dialogue phase. During these discussions, possibilities and framework conditions for the project will be explored together, after which the definitive framework for the concession will be established and selected candidates will be invited to submit their final offer.
Entrepreneurs with a strong idea for these locations, who enjoy collaborating with a local government and clubs in an active leisure environment, are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is November 12, 2026, at 12 PM.
